I probably shouldn’t turn this into a painting. What a horrible sketch. Why would someone allow me to draw this?
So my niece comes to the studio today and I show her all my new stuff.. While showing her the solar system parasol she points out that I forgot a planet. So there’s Uranus on the left. Then I outlined Mercury in pink.
Yes yes, I still dib-dub-dabble in the abstract field from time to time. Although my abstract hasn’t sold since I got better at painting my normal stuff I still manage to pump two similar abstract pieces a year. I last year I did four but i pollocked two of them.
Here’s yet another full 360 views at yet another elephant vase. Sigh… My fifth vase and, for a while, my last vase. Its my second completed elephant vase but I designed and painted on it first. I don’t plan on creating anymore pieces like I’ve been doing these past few weeks for a while. I need a break. I’m going back to flat surfaces. Unless I get a commission for more elephant vases, that is.
My next couple of projects are nearly completed. Its something different. As far as I know nobody has done it yet. I can’t say i was entirely thrilled when I was given the project but I’m getting into it now.
I’m also ever closer to self publishing. I’m going to look at laser printers tomorrow. I have one mini comic completed for publishing, just need something to print it with. If I succeed, I will draw more published comics than web comics for a while.
360 degree view of my latest elephant piece entitled ‘A Night of a Day’. Super quality photos are unavailable now. deal with cell phone pictures.
Finally my first hand painted vase is finished with the exception of a few generous coats of protective coating.
But these aren’t the first in my decor art collection. People who attended Pancakes and Booze II in Atlanta 2010 saw and bought my PageFiller Coaster set. And I’m pretty sure Ive painted other decorative pieces in the past but I can’t seem to think properly lately.
For my newest set of decors I’m going for a decorative look. Failed experiment on vases proved that I had to be a little more simplistic until I get used to painting on non flat surfaces. One failed vase was meant to be a scene from Super Mario World but it wasn’t soon after painting the dirt I decided to scrap the idea.
Oh well, shit happens. More art soon.
